Much of this book has been written for years. However, it has not
been available to the public until now for two reasons. One, Lilly
asked me not to pursue publication of it until her death. Some of
the events of the book were simply too painful for her to face
publicly.

The second reason is that I did not have a satisfactory ending
which made sense and which tied things together. It was obviously
an incomplete story. Both reasons for holding back on publication
were met in the days leading up to and including the week preceding
Easter 2022. Lilly passed away on March 31st and the surprise ending
came to me on Easter Sunday. As you read this book may you be
touched by Lilly’s compassion, her unique sense of right and wrong
and the hope which sustained her.
